Trading Desk & Fund Management Application Manager recruitment
The successful candidate will be part of the Investment Management Technology group, who are responsible for the support of proprietary and 3rd party vendor applications used by the Investment Management business. This group interfaces directly with business end-users (ranging from fund managers to traders), other technology groups and external vendors. This is a highly demanding group who operate in a fast paced fund management and dealing environment. This role is responsible for leading the global application support team and will be accountable for the operational stability of the technology used by the trading business.
The right candidate will have proven experience and domain knowledge in Fixed Income and Equity trading technology. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple teams and delivery of a first class technical support and problem resolution service to such a group. You will also need to demonstrate extensive production support experience.
Given the nature of this role you will need strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to face-off successfully to Fund Managers and Traders and maintain close contact with the existing support teams.
The candidate must possess a strong technical background and is required to posses the following skills/assets:
- Industry experience of client facing roles within the financial services industry
- Industry experience using SQL with one of the following RDBMS:- Sybase, Oracle
- Electronic (FIX, MQ) Messaging, JAVA ,NET,XML, Informatica, Streambase, Cognos
- Experience leading a team responsible for configuring and supporting 3rd Party Vendors
- Proven experience with environment management, code deployment and configuration control processes
- Proven ability to proactively identify and respond to changing market conditions which may affect applications
- Ability to rapidly learn new applications and technologies
- Experience in development/change projects including a disciplined approach to implementation
- Experience working in a global environment
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Degree level qualification or equivalent
For this role you will need to demonstrate experience in providing technical leadership and influencing plans for supportable designs.
