Trading Operations Specialist recruitment
To support our ongoing expansion into additional markets, we seek a Trading Operations Specialist to work across a broad range of instruments and asset classes on the front lines of Quantlab’s real-time trading activities. In addition to monitoring model behavior and continually enhance algorithmic trading strategies, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to drive business direction and lead the team’s efforts in researching and recommending new market opportunities.
Our large-scale, electronic trading platform trades on major financial exchanges in the U.S. and internationally continuously from Sunday until Friday:
North American markets from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Asian markets from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. with a 9-day biweekly schedule
European markets from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a 4-day weekly schedule
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee automated, algorithmic trade execution processes to monitor for system irregularities, risk, or compliance violations.
- Enter and manage risk limits in trading systems, and continually monitor positions against set criteria.
- Track, report, analyze, and forecast critical factors affecting the various components of strategy performance.
- Troubleshoot existing models and assist researchers in resolving problems and offering enhancements related to quantitative trading strategies.
- Work with operations personnel to continue to streamline the process between trade and settlement.
- Perform basic accounting and reconciliation for strategies under your supervision.
- Obtain Series 3, 7, 63 and 55 brokerage licenses within 6 months of employment (exam sponsorship provided).
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of deep expertise in equities, options, futures, and/or FX in an automated or algorithmic trading environment required.
- Recent work experience programming/scripting in any of the following required (Unix KSH, Python, C/C++, C#/F#, or similar).
- Experience supporting broker dealer operations a plus.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related.
