Trading Risk Analyst recruitment

Our client is a leading institutional asset manager.  This newly created position will report into the head of risk management.  This is a very hands on position interfacing daily with traders, answering questions, solving problems and troubleshooting.  Together with the Risk Manager, this individual will continually look for ways to mitigate risks in a partnering fashion.  We seek an individual who is collaborative and can build good relationships.  The ideal candidate will have spent time on a trading desk in a risk, compliance or operations type of role where s/he worked on projects identifying inefficiencies and better ways of operating. We are seeking someone who has a strong knowledge of trade order management systems and their functionality. 

This is a very exciting time as the firm is expanding globally.  As such, this individual will be in a key position to provide support to this effort. Some key responsibilities will include:

-analyze work and information flows identifying vulnerabilities. Developing executable plans to mitigate the risks

-interface and partner with other key areas such as operations, compliance, external vendor(s), etc. to implement processes

-work directly with investment professionals and provide insights and communicate proper procedures.   Analyze trade errors and identify ways to ensure these errors won't be repeated

-work with the head of risk on proactive plans and business initiatives

Requirements:  We are seeking a highly communicative individual who is accustomed to the high intensity of a trading room.  The successful candidate will have a BS/BA. Participation in an advanced degree program and/or the CFA program is seen as favorable. The ideal candidate will have up to 8 years of professional experience with at least the past 3 years in a role focused on working with a trading desk in a similar/related role to this.  Current and past roles can include risk, operations, middle office, compliance, business analysis whereby the candidate has worked on projects to identify inefficiencies and risks and developed plans to mitigate those risks.  The successful candidate will have both a very "can do" attitude with a high level of integrity.  S/he will be calm and cool under pressure and have a sense of humor.  Finally, a strong aptitude for technology with a solid working knowledge of Trade Order Management systems is mandatory.
