Trading Services
The Trading Services team are responsible for providing IG’s clients with the highest quality help and support. The team respond to a broad range of email and telephone queries related to payment and account administration, trading disputes, IG’s product offering, financial markets, and technical troubleshooting. The team are also responsible for booking trades on behalf of clients, and trade administration. Team members must become knowledgeable about all aspects of IG’s service and so comprehensive and on-going training is provided.
Technical/Charting Specialism
Whilst queries of all natures are dealt with in this role, the focus of the Technical Specialist team is to provide technical support to IG’s clients. Once fully trained, team members will troubleshoot issues experienced with IG’s trading venues, charting packages, and other online services. The team also provide guidance to the wider trading services team about technical issues, they also test new technologies, provide feedback to IG’s developers, and communicate IT-related updates to the wider Trading Services department.
Special Conditions
The team work shifts through the week, and it may occasionally be necessary to work at weekends or during Bank Holidays. No formal IT-related qualifications are required for this role and full training is provided.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications, experience and attributes:
Essential:
- Educated to Degree level
- 6 months experience working in a client facing, administrative role (this could be gained either through a “gap year” or as part of a student part-time role)
- Self-starting, enthusiastic team-player who will be willing and able to help colleagues at peak-times
- Highly organised / pro-active individual who has the ability to remain calm and measured
- Highly articulate / excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Deadline / detail / delivery conscious, flexible to changing priorities and able to work at a consistently high standard
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A logical and analytical approach
- High level of numeracy
- An interest in technology, very high computer literacy and troubleshooting technological problems
Desirable:
- Worked within a client services department
- Worked within a financial environment
- Interest in web developments and mobile apps
- Charting knowledge
- Fluency in a foreign language that IG operates in
