Trading Systems – Application Support Analyst recruitment
Working within a team of 3, the role of 'Application Support Analyst' is a key office role as it provides the vital link between IT and 'the business' on a daily basis. The role involves providing technical and business support on a range of trading and back-office applications. This role will suit a technically minded candidate with the personality capable of interacting with business sponsors of all levels. Key attributes include excellent customer facing skills, an organised and analytical mind with the ability to identify problems areas and offer solutions. The candidate should be able to gather and document user requirements, work with the global support and IT development teams to provide excellent levels of service to the business.
Responsibilities
- Provide first and second line support of all trading applications
- Conduct regular and ad-hoc system administration tasks
- Identify problem areas and resolve or escalate if required
- Provide system and incident management and control
- Provide Business Analysis support
- Provide primary link between business users and IT
- Provide business insight and technical expertise across the site
- Support development team to implement business process or system changes
- Provide IT system unit testing
- Organise formal user testing and sign-off of system upgrades or enhancements
- Contribute to development and implementation of software or infrastructure projects
- Operate as part of a global support team
- Provide user training as necessary
REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) qualifications an advantage but not a pre-requisite
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar role
- Previous application support experience preferably in commodity or financial sectors
- Experience of business analysis and technical design disciplines also an advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the business
- Customer focused delivery of support to high standards
- Formal experience in IT system testing would be desirable
- Knowledge of RDMS Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL Server and SQL would be an advantage
