Trading Systems Engineer – Linux, Java – Systematic Trading Hedge Fund recruitment
Trading Systems Engineer – Linux, Java – Systematic Trading Hedge Fund
Very interesting opportunity to join a 1 year old hedge fund with a very exciting, growing hedge fund. The pedigree of the founding partners in the fund is immaculate, having jointly run large portfolios within 2 other hedge funds previously with an excellent track record. Their approach and system for trading has a 10 year track record and created very positive returns.
Trading is based on a heavily computerised approach, which relies on huge computing power and algorithms to analyse data, look for trends in markets and execute high volumes of trades on futures and options markets. The partners in the firm come from Theoretical Computing Science background (MIT), as well as Statistics and Mathematical Computer Science from Oxford University. They have good knowledge of networks, hardware, software, servers etc, but need an engineer to really help to optimise their business which is all based on Computing.
The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of Linux Engineering as well as scripting – perl, python, bsh, ksh etc. You should also be very capable programming in Java as you will be expected to monitor and make improvements to algorithm code which is written in Java.
This is a very good opportunity for someone to join a young hedge fund, in a very relaxed environment but learn about the details of high frequency systematic trading from some very talented individuals.
