We currently have an opening for a Traffic Supervisor at our facility in Freeport, IL

 

The role of this position is to provide leadership and accountability for the overall activities of distribution (stock room, intra-plant transportation, shipping) for Sensing Control (SC) sites in Northwest Illinois (NWIL). The position owns inter-plant shipping relationships across SC that involve the NWIL distribution center. This includes (but is not limited to): Lead improvement with six sigma and lean manufacturing tools. Support Value Stream Managers across facilities to meet business deliverables. Identify waste and inefficiencies in the distribution system and drive their elimination. Administer freight volumes to meet commitments. Manage Import Documents retention program. Facilitate process for Assignment of Harmonized Codes on imports and exports. Coordinate global activities for SC transportation/Logistics originating from this distribution center. This position is also responsible for the information flow, finance, accounting and quality of this process.PRIMARY JOB ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:• Ownership of and accountability for the NWIL distribution system-maintain quality of the delivery systems while aggressively managing cost.• Interfacing with Procurement in negotiating agreements with third-party carriers• Drive standardization and efficiency toward a NWIL campus distribution model• Create solutions for more efficient use of warehouse space and more cost-effective and timely delivery solutions for the factories• Accountability for budget and more efficient use of distribution resources• Assess and drive a high performance work environment• Manage operational and relationships with other facilities and providers• Ensure appropriate communications and interactions in a highly matrixed organization• Work with the Global Logistics Leader to establish and implement distribution strategies that support STRAP/AOP.• Implement a continuous improvement process for the distribution operations.• Drive Honeywell Operating System (HOS) activities to establish an effective cost structure, improve productivity of delivery, and maximize quality• Streamlining NWIL shipping/receiving and mail delivery processes• Damage Prevention/Elimination for raw materials and finished goods movements• Responsibility for DOT Compliance and Hazardous Material policies and procedures• Facilitate the conversion to a new ERP systemKey Deliverables:Drive Northwest Illimois (NWIL) Transportation and Logistics programs.Identify, develop, and implement productivity programsParticipate on Functional and Business Leadership TeamsIdentify Supply Chain improvement opportunities.Drive continuous process improvements in, on time delivery, cost savings, inventory reduction, supplier productivity and management of 3rd party relationships.Facilitate GrowthDeliver ResultsEnsure Safety/Regulatory Compliance ProcessesImprove Trade Compliance Education and ProcessTechnical:Analytical SkillsMetrics and MeasurementsProblem SolvingProcess analysisProject ManagementTeam:Coaching/Counseling/ TrainingLeadership/motivationCollaboration/facilitationConsultative
