Traffic Transportation Reporter
Description News 12 The Bronx and Brooklyn is looking for the ideal candidate to join our team as the Traffic Transportation Reporter. This position will be part of the on-air morning news team of News 12 The Bronx and Brooklyn as well as report on transportation and commuter related stories. They will be responsible for gathering traffic incident information, and creating accurate, informative, visually interesting and well-presented stories on issues/situations related to traffic and transportation reports. They will produce and present on-camera traffic reports with a clean, smooth delivery and an easy to understand and logically ordered presentation in a manner that is clear, relevant and meaningful to viewers of News 12 The Bronx and Brooklyn. They must present traffic information across all platforms in a way that connects with viewers. They will also generate Traffic Transportation related story ideas, gather information, and produce and present stories and other content for all platforms and in a manner that is clear, relevant and meaningful. Ensure that all content meets News 12 Network standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Qualifications The ideal candidate needs a minimum of one year full-time professional news reporting experience. News 12 The Bronx and Brooklyn is a "one-man-band" operation, so experience shooting and editing video is required. Must have excellent organization, time management and communication skills. Must have the ability to identify problems and develop solutions. Effective news writing ability for all platforms and maintaining a professional personal appearance is mandatory. Knowledge of news gathering equipment and computers, understanding of news production techniques and the ability to develop engaging presentation as well as the ability to analyze news situations in order to provide accurate information, insight, and perspective is required. Ideal candidate should have some experience in on-air news or traffic incident reporting. Must have knowledge of the roadways in the tri-state area. Must have strong computer and graphic skills as well as excellent script writing, on-camera performance, news judgment, and analytical abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills required. Must have a valid drivers license and have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Bachelor s degree preferred.
