Trailer Serviceability Tech (IRC44937) Job in Green Bay, Wisconsin Us
JOB SUMMARY:
The position will interact with various departments to identify and direct maintenance resources to match daily network needs to reduce unserviceable trailer quantities and reduces total costs for managing trailers. Will develop and work with cross-functional networks including Customer Service, Operations, Maintenance, Billing Operations and our Customers to recommend changes in our technology, support tools, and the implementation of processes and procedures to increase overall trailer efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for identifying unserviceable trailers and making them available to haul freight.
2. Makes best value decisions regarding the routing of unserviceable trailers to company shops, use of the service trucks, subletting or other alternatives to maximizing trailer availability.
3. Coordinates with Customer Service and Maintenance regarding the routing of unserviceable trailers to and from company or sublet maintenance facilities.
4. Hold vendors to committed availability of trailers
5. Evaluates trailer turn times at vendor shops and determines future shop-specific output thresholds.
6. Communicates with shops regarding the prioritization of trailer repairs based on capacity needs and current available units.
7. Responsible for meeting key factors:
- Percentage of unserviceable trailers in available status
- Number of unserviceable trailers in market
- Average turn time from when it is made unserviceable to when it is serviceable
- Number of unserviceable trailers at customer by market
- Trailer TBO assignment consistent with Maintenance process
- Average costs in vs. out of network
- Trailers made available per day, per associate, per market
8. Determines why trailers not available and develops action plans to address outstanding unserviceable trailers backlogs.
9. Collaborate with our mechanic associates on the condition of the trailer and decide whether it should be repaired.
10. Train team members in cross functional skills
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Two years of experience in Operations, Customer Service or Maintenance related work.
2. General knowledge of Van, Intermodal Bulk, and Logistic Equipment, preferred.
3. Demonstrate above average interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
4. Excellent problem analysis skills.
5. Able to use Microsoft Office products.
6. Possess minimal typing skills for data input.
7. Willing to adjust to changing work priorities.
8. Possess good interpersonal communication skills.
