Trainee bunker traders

GENERAL JOB INTRODUCTION

Trainee bunker traders required for this dynamic Scandinavian owned Bunker Trading House. Sales and BD professionals from the Shipping and/or marine industry will be trained for this lucrative career.

Our client is a global trading company for marine fuels headquartered in Singapore with offices in Dubai and further aggressive growth plans into Asia, Europe and the America’s.  The company have gone back to the roots of bunkering using trust and the ability to provide customers with fuel products quickly and efficiently no matter how tough the challenge by offering them flexible bunker solutions built on high level of trust earned through personal relations – without limitations.

They believe in the adage “an inquiry is an inquiry” and will be personal, flexible, dynamic and fast moving to get products when and where they are needed.  In addition the group’s ability to provide sufficient credit lines towards the client and proven ability to obtain the sufficient financing from the group means they can serve clients requirements – without limitations.

Due to the planned entry to the US, Europe and Asia they will act as traders/brokers and not focus on becoming physical suppliers but their focus will be on higher margin trades in a medium risk market segment, allowing “street smart” traders to deal directly with all suppliers – without limitations.      

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

You will have as a minimum of 5 years’ of sales or BD experience within the Shipping and/or Marine industry ideally with a network of existing business relationships in these industries and a proven track record of sales success.   Your current client base will include a customer data base where you sell based on personal/social relationships as well as formal business meetings.  You will regard cold canvassing as a part of your working day, be a hard worker and goal oriented individual.  In addition we are looking for a team player with strong ambition and self-drive as well as fluent in English and ideally Mandarin. You will have a sense of humour and strong communication skills are important.  Ideally you will also have experience as a trader in a high performance environment and have a hunter profile as well as being flexible, efficient, personal, quick, dynamic.  Your aggressive and determined “never give up attitude” and ability to think out of the box will mean you are motivated by high incentives.                 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

You will be supported by the company creating high brand awareness and you will use all sales channels to generate enquiries and create your own trading platforms.  You will be involved getting in new clients, day to day trading, chasing payment and your own P/L.
