Trainee – Debt Capital Markets Team for Financial Institutions recruitment
DCM is a department that helps clients (public and private institutions) to raise money through debt capital markets.
The Trainee will work alongside analysts to provide support to the senior originators of the team.
Main responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Trainee will be to assist the team in its commercial actions. For instance, the regular tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Pitchbook production (mainly on bond issue proposals)
- Bondwatch (weekly market wrap-up on our market segment)
- Data crunching (for various purposes/analysis)
- Research
- Administrative tasks (weekly pipeline etc)
- Interacting with other business lines (such as syndicate, ratings advisory, structuring teams, traders etc)
The Trainee will also participate in various internal team meetings such as the daily morning meeting where market trends are discussed and also in weekly meetings where the current marketing actions of the team are reviewed.
Education
- Preferably a Masters degree in a finance or business related discipline from a top university or business school
Past experience
- Training in an investment bank, ideally within Capital Markets
Languages
- Fluent written and spoken English essential
Technical skills
- Strong background in finance and financial markets
- Good IT skills with strong proficiency in Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge of market tools e.g. Bloomberg is a plus
