Position Title: Training Coordinator
Location: Administrative Offices, 6532 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, Maryland.
Hours: Full Time (40 hours/week)
Examples of Duties: Coordinates the staff development program for PGCMLS: Develops training programs for all positions; develops staff orientation; assess training needs and sets curriculums; recommends and establishes policies, procedures and forms to be used; monitors the distribution of training monies among job groups; collaborates with others to plan and provide training; networks with outside teams; makes recommendations to training guidelines for all staff; gathers, evaluates, communicates and markets training programs/orientation and staff development opportunities; hosts training sessions, including obtaining needed materials, setting up and breaking down the room and introducing the speakers; prepares statistics and reports as needed; reviews Educational Leave Requests. Updates all employee training records. Provides oversight of certification and CEUs of Librarians and Library Associates: submits paperwork to the State as required by law; monitors to ensure completion of Library Associate Training Institute (LATI) training; records CEU data and produces reports. Performs other duties or responsibilities that are related to the position.
Qualifications/Requirements: Possession of a Bachelor=s Degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of training or staff development experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Knowledge of standard training/staff development practices and policies. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse staff and external contacts; exercise initiative; work on multiple projects simultaneously; follow oral and written instructions; produce accurate work; and meet multiple and varying deadlines. Develops programs. Knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic. Ability to type accurately; experience with word processing software; experience with database software. Excellent skills in oral and written communications. Ability to drive to locations for training sessions, meetings and other events. Work involves extensive sitting; walking, standing; reaching, stooping, bending, grasping and moving objects; and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
Necessary Special Requirement: Class C driver’s license in good standing
Union Status: Unit One
Salary: $43,583 and an generous benefits package.
