The Training Development Manager will work closely with the Director of Learning Development to supervise the department staff with event management, curriculum development, career advancement tracts and development of training resources to support the organization’s operating goals and mission. The goal of the LD department is to equip our professionals to better serve their clients. The candidate will provide operations management to ensure learning platforms and resources are aligned with defined business plans and strategies to meet that goal. This is a National Office position based in Springfield, MO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for oversight and implementation of the strategic plan for LD programs
- Manage the day-to-day operations and supervise, evaluate and train staff
- Work in unison with department director, Human Resources and other leaders to identify needs for training and organizational development firmwide; develop and implement new training programs using blended platforms to meet firm needs
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new programs and systems
- Remain abreast of current developments in the training field
- Ensure firm training programs meet NASBA, AICPA and other regulatory guidelines
- Coordination of a cohesive brand and theme across department deliverables
Special Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Training or Special Licenses/Certifications Needed to Perform the Job:
- Proven ability to coach, develop and lead others
- Curriculum development using blended learning platforms
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Professional demeanor and disciplined work ethic
- Strategic thinking, as well as high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technology savvy and prior use of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management
- Experience coordinating large, multi-day training events or conferences
Education/Experience/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, behavioral or social science or closely related field
- Minimum of five years of experience training development
- Preferred two years at the senior management or executive level in a professional services company or other professional organization of similar or larger size, in which the candidate has been responsible for:
- Functional and strategic aspects of LD
- Department staff assessment, management and development for an LD staff of three to 10 members
- Previous experience with multisite, multistate, multifunctional organizations
Other Physical and/or Special Requirements:
- Working on computer for long periods of time (up to four hours)
- Sitting for long periods of time (up to four hours)
- Air and car travel required (to practice offices, events and/or conferences)
