Specific Job Description ? Responsible for training users on standard USAP application software, Microsoft Office standard applications, and for presenting and maintaining training materials and classes, as required by IT management. ? This position may deploy to McMurdo during the WINFLY/Summer season. ? Takes lead on interacting with other divisions to identify software training needs and to improve training processes. ? Working independently, designs software classes including course structure and develops lesson plans. ? Continuously researches and amends course content and delivery methods to best meet audience needs. ? As the primary IT instructor, provides software training for all standard USAP application packages and applicable Microsoft Office packages. ? Creates software training reference guides and performance aids that support classroom presentations. ? Schedules and posts all internal IT training classes on the intranet for employees and maintains attendance records. ? Performs second-tier support for software issues referred by the IT Help Desk. ? Participates as project team member in software implementation planning and execution related to end-user training. ? Develops and communicates enterprise-wide training plan to include all stations and locations. ? Provides Train-the-Trainer instruction for junior level instructors to ensure consistent training practices across enterprise. ? Maintains training room and ensures equipment operability. ? Uses trade and vendor publications, professional seminars, and corporate sponsored training to maintain expertise on current software releases, training methods and related issues. Standard Job Description Plans, develops, and implements technical product training programs for customers, and/or employees, and field support personnel. Technical training may include standard, repeatable modules, customized and new product modules. Obtains information from customer and technical organizations, engineering, software and product requirements to prepare training programs; prepares lesson plans and training materials; designs product demonstrations; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions, product demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. May administer tests. Continuously revises lesson plans to ensure course material reflect product features, meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date. May include military trainers.
