We currently have a Training Specialist 3 position open at our Food Processing Plant in West Memphis, AR . Job Summary This Training Specialist designs and develops training, training programs, and educational programs in connection with on-the-job training, competency recognition, skill development, workplace-culture change, and management development. Conducts on-site training, facilitates group training programs, and works with outside consultants and vendors to coordinate and deliver training. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and maintains records of training activities and employee progress. Responsibilities - Designs, develops, and implements technical as well as management and hourly development programs while ensuring that these programs meet facility and group goals and comply with HR programs, policies, and procedures. - Administers on-the-job training process, which includes maintaining records of trainee progress and training files; ensuring that employees employee receive effective training evaluations and quizzes; measuring effectiveness of training programs; and providing training metrics to management. - Trains managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with training policies and procedures. Partners with the quality, safety, and other departments to ensure compliance with all regulatory training. - Conducts new hire orientation, coordinates pre-employment substance abuse testing and background checks. - Provides benefit orientation for all eligible employees. - Collects, summarizes, and submits proof of training for temporary and Simplot employees. - Assists in recruitment efforts for hourly employees. - Provides HR Generalist support, including administering employee benefits and conducting interviews. Assists employees with HR related questions. Participates in employee committees as required. - Partners with various departments to create, update, and maintain job descriptions, job profiles, essential job functions, qualification checklists, work instructions, and training manuals. - Responsible for updating annual training calendar and schedule of training, and participates in customer audits. - Works with, manages, and facilitates the use of outside vendors when outsourcing of training is necessary. Requirements - Bachelor?s degree in training or a closely related field and three + years of related experience and/or training is preferred. - Thorough understanding of technical training approaches, techniques, and methodologies, usually gained through previous experience developing and designing technical training and management development programs. - Ability to resolve complex problems and perform work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character. - Proficiency in MBTI and Lominger competencies is preferred. - Training certificate from nationally recognized association is preferred.
