General Summary:
The Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, delivery, evaluation, continuous improvement, and maintenance of job specific and safety training for the RCN DC Market audience supporting both newly hired and/or tenured employees. This role will support Operations, Dispatch, Sales, Human Resources, etc. This role promotes an environment of personal and professional growth, and the overall Market’s objectives to Cultivate Customers, Strengthen Operations and Engage Employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Povides direct training of new hires and proficiency training for existing technicians.
Provides technical training to non-technical personnel such as dispatch, sales reps and office administration personnel.
Performs one-on-one training session ride outs with the service and maintenance teams as necessary.
Provide leadership training and direction to supervisory staff as needed.
Develop, implement, execute and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries and vehicle accidents.
Develop and modify all training documentation as required.
Develop SOP documentation to introduce new individuals to our work environment.
Develop and modify local Disaster Recovery Plan/Strategy.
Assist in monitoring new individual’s performance vs. expectations.
Monitor linkage between curriculum and improved learner performance.
Makes initial evaluation of job performance and works with supervisors to determine best practices.
Provide supervision of employees during training by tracking attendance, addressing appropriate behavior, and documenting performance and development needs.
Administers learning schedules, calendar and maintains participant records.
Participate in the evaluation of test equipment and tools.
Work closely with support teams to resolve test equipment and tools defects.
Implement, execute, and monitor to ensure compliance with OSHA safety policies and procedures. Track, Worker’s Compensation cost and hours year –over- year.
Manage local Safety budget. Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.
Lead the Annual Market Safety action plans/training.
Achieve annual targets for Accident Severity and Accident Frequency Rates.
Help ensure all accidents are recorded properly.
Respond on-site to vehicle accidents.
Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalency.
Certification: NCTI certifications are a plus.
Relevant Work Experience: 3 – 4 years training experience. Industry experience is preferred.
Basic working knowledge of computers and software specifically Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Prior experience with Telecommunications Software ICOMS preferred
Excellent verbal, written and oral communications skills
Organizational skills are a must
Excellent presentation skills
Valid Drivers License
