Trans Test Departmental Specialist
Under minimum direction and acting on own initiative and direction, performs a variety of complex administrative office functions requiring thorough knowledge of administrative and financial functions of the Trans Test Department including the Transformer Shop, the Rubber Goods Lab and the Grounds and Hot Sticks Shop. Typical duties include maintenance of complicated data systems; research, compilation and analysis of data for reports/studies. Serves as system administrator for PassPort Work Management and Tool Loan Tracking modules as it relates to Trans Test. Also acts as coordinator of departmental projects. Assignments involve work of a confidential nature and require knowledge of the practices and procedures of the function, company policies and programs. May provide guidance or work leadership to lower level staff. Required Skills Knowledge of: Financial theory and processes, OM and capital budgeting, activity-based costing and management, capitalization requirements, clearing account methodology; corporate budgeting process; Sarbanes Oxley compliance issues; and MS office suite of products with emphasis on Word and Excel. Skills in: The operation of systems and software such as PassPort Labor Entry, Contract Management, the Work Management and Inventory modules; PeopleSoft queries; and Crystal Reports queries; solid editing and proofreading skills to assist in composing the format and content of correspondence and technical documents; and proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar when proofreading. Prefer skill in using ProClarity and Corporate Budget Tool in CLRIS. Ability to: Understand and apply basic mathematical calculations and concepts involving fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.; maintain confidentiality; use excellent judgment to solve assigned tasks; maintain files and reports; work and communicate effectively with a wide variety of employees and customers; organize complex tasks into smaller components, ensuring all details are included and research all necessary issues; understand utility accounting and its compliance with SOX, FERC and other tax accounting and internal control requirements; and maintain composure while working effectively in stressful situations. Required Experience MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school degree or GED. Prefer post-high school education in a field such as mathematics, accounting, finance. Experience: 3 or more years related administrative experience or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience. Prefer At least 2 years financial administrative background, with experience auditing reports, as well as experience working within an inventory management system and excellent skills in Excel. Licenses: Valid driver s license with acceptable driving record according to driving requirements of the position.
