Transaction Cost Efficiency – Business Analyst
Position Summary
Our client, a major European Investment Bank in New York, is in immediate need of a Business Analyst (Transaction Cost Efficiency).
The Transactional Cost Efficiency (TCE) group partners with Capital Markets sales and trading to provide value added services that optimize trade flow strategies in an effort to maximize profitability. The TCE group leverages product expertise to develop initiatives that focus on specific action items that create efficiencies along the entire life-cycle of a trade, from execution to settlement. To accomplish this goal, the group utilizes a global cross product trade execution platform which calculates execution expense (T+1).
This consulting position is required to independently lead the full cycle implementation of exchange and brokerage fee calculators for Cash Equities Exchanges across the Asia Pacific Region.
Responsibilities
- Lead the project to develop a module to calculate APAC Cash Equities exchange and brokerage fees for a proprietary calculation system
- Liaise with internal clients across the APAC region to prioritize and complete a market by market build- out
- Complete business requirements documentation detailing how to calculate brokerage and exchange fees in the region
- Liaise with product and market specialists
- Conduct independent research via internet and exchange contacts to understand execution fee schedules
- Create and execute test scripts for new calculators to ensure quality of calculator delivered
- Liaise with internal IT to communicate business requirements and support development questions
- Interface with Capital Markets IT in Singapore to obtain the equities trade data
Requirements
- The ideal candidate has relevant APAC Cash Equities market experience, is organized, goal oriented, driven, demonstrates initiative, and is able to manage multiple priorities across multiple regions and time zones. Strong leadership, proven decision-making and problem solving capabilities, as well as the ability to work with cross-functional and cross-regional teams are required.
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as needed to communicate with internal clients and exchange contacts in APAC during their business day
- APAC Equities product knowledge
- Excellent oral, written communication and meeting moderation skills
- Japanese language a plus
- Effectively operate in team and collaborative work environment, as well as independently
- Strong organizational management, personal organization, planning skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and targets is required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of financial services experience
- Experience with APAC
- Equities exchanges Experience with order/execution fee schedules at APAC Equities exchanges a plus
- Experience writing Business Requirements Documents and developing Test Plans
- Consulting Experience a plus
