About J.P. Morgan Asset Services / Corporate Actions Corporate Actions (COACS) is one of the key product offerings within WSS Asset Servicing. The group is responsible for the end to end process for all corporate actions including: Announcement Capture, Client and Agent Instruction, Production Control, IOS Middle Office, Fund Accounting, Entitlement Completions and Client Enquiries. Working with hubs in APAC and WHEM, the Bournemouth COACS Department is a dynamic environment, providing a bench mark product to all custody, clearance and collateral clients.
About J.P. Morgan Global Trade Operations Global Trade Operations is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and settlement of client's trade instructions. The settlements department interfaces directly with brokers and registrars/transfer agents as well as additional JPMorgan lines of business.
Job Description, Settlements Specialist / Key Responsibilities covered by this area:
- Day to day task management, ensuring smooth running of the team
- Daily investigation of trade discrepancies will be required, this will involve liaison within JPM including Client Services along with external parties involved in the Settlement process such as registrars/transfer agents and brokers.
- Ensure all daily controls and processing are completed and signed off
- Resolution, cash and stock break management
- Ensure input to all key metrics as required
- Ensure adherence to global escalation policies, maintain up to date awareness of risk policies and procedures, attest to operational procedures at required intervals and actively comply with ethics and behaviour standards
- Continually strive to develop market expertise, demonstrating judgement and an understanding of the business
- To assist the Operations Manager with Operations projects as required.
- Liaise with custodian and Brokers to ensure timely settlement.
- Build strong relationships with other support departments and Business areas
- Participate in internal and market initiatives for the business to operate in an efficient manner.
- Use STP product efficiently to manage individual workload effectively, in particular ensure that all transactions that your area is responsible for have been completed.
Corporate Actions Specialist / Key Responsibilities covered by this area:
- On a daily basis, ensure timely and accurate capture and input of all client corporate action instructions according to event and market requirements.
- On a daily basis, ensure timely and accurate execution of instructions to in house systems and onward to market according to event and market requirements including confirmation and reconciliation of agent and market confirmation.
- Ensure clear well documented communication between sub custodians, agents, brokers, counterparties, internal operational teams and clients within prescribed timeframes.
- Ensure all daily functions supporting the corporate actions instruction workflow are completed to support meeting the agreed service levels.
- Ensure full execution of morning and afternoon, intra and end of day controls and checks with End of Day attestations supplied to team manager.
- Manage group email boxes and internal enquiry management tools to ensure queries are resolved and responded to within a timeframe and manner sensitive to the urgency of the event, and in accordance with prescribed service levels, ensuring that internal and external client satisfaction is achieved.
- Proactive management of key client relationships to enhance the client experience with J.P. Morgan.
- Work with Product, Network Management, Sub custodians and Vendors to resolve day-to-day issues identified through daily operations and enquiry management.
- Assist the team Manager in the day-to-day management of the instruction process ensuring effective workload balancing for team members.

• You can demonstrate a working knowledge of the trade cycle and securities operations processes, specifically around settlements
• You can demonstrate a working knowledge of investment management, custodian or broker operational processes
• Ability to discuss in detail the need for [INVALID-WORD]nt controls within an operational environment and their impact to other processes and dependencies.
• Flexible approach to the daily workflows / hours required to perform the role. Ability to effectively prioritise workloads and work to critical deadlines
• Excellent technical skills and able to talk through experience to date with different systems
• Strong Microsoft Office package essential
• Strong Risk and Control Awareness
For management roles include:
• Able to provide examples of how your leadership has worked towards developing and retaining the talent pool
• Ability to talk in detail your experience of ensuring best practice organisational structures are in place
• Experience of ensuring correct resourcing levels to meet BAU and Change demands
• Demonstrable experience of the day to day running of a team, ensuring all deliverables and SLAs completed correctly and issued to clients per timetable
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure that controls are appropriate and are followed by team
• Past experience in producing KPIs upon which to monitor and continuously improve the operational service.
• Ability to talk in detail about your experience in setting team member objectives and completing regular performance reviews
