Transaction Processing Specialist

Our client, a leading global financial services firm with assets of $1.2 trillion and is a leader in investment banking.
They are currently recruiting in the Bournemouth area and looking for passionate, career minded professionals with excellent communication skills and keen to work in fast paced environment.

Department:

The Metal Settlements team, located at the Bournemouth office, operates between the hours of 8am and 6pm (occasionally later) and expects to handle approx. 20,000+ settlements a month across bullion and base metals, with further significant growth ahead.

Our clients are interested in risk management and investment products and include financial and corporate institutions, whilst hedge funds, pension funds and other investors are increasing their exposure to our products.

Job Description:

Daily responsibilities would involve issuing invoices, contacting clients to agree settlements via incoming/outgoing communication via telephone and email.
Investigating queries on all trades prior to Settlement– liaising with the business (front/middle office and marketing teams) to resolve any issues and to ensure that the settlements are agreed on a daily basis.
Completing all confirmation of settlement invoices on a day-to-day basis and supporting all month-end activities.
Release of all payments in a controlled and timely manner, adhering to currency cut off times.
Applications used within the group are the front-end systems Athena FX and Athena Commodities, Invoicing system Lotus Notes, April Trade Monitor, and payment systems DCPP, TSS-FX, TSS-MM and EPI

Responsible for ensuring all deadlines are met and for escalating issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
Ability to challenge current processes and identify process / control improvements and implement.
Due to a high level of Client Service, to have a professional and client focused approach. Controls and risk focus to ensure the team is operating at the highest compliant standard.
Adherent to all Bank settlement policies and currency cut off times.
Not afraid to regularly liaise with senior individuals within the business
