Transactions & Restructuring – SCI Financial Services – Integration and Separation recruitment

KPMG’s Transactions and Restructuring (TR) division brings together the Firm’s Corporate Finance, Transaction Services and Restructuring businesses into a single European practice.

SCI FS is TR’s practice that delivers integration, separation, strategy, transformation, and commercial due diligence work to clients in Financial Services. The practice focuses on working with CEOs, top management teams and financial investors in and around transactions. It is as at the heart of the Firm’s agenda to increase its penetration of boardrooms and work with clients across the economic and transaction cycle.

We have a critical need to recruit numerous Associate Directors and Managers with a demonstrable track record of project delivery on integration and separation projects. We are seeking outstanding individuals who will enhance a team committed to being the market leader by size and reputation in the FS sector.

Desired skills and experience

The candidate must have practical, hands on experience of working in a transaction environment. They should be able to evidence strong skills and a successful track record of delivering integration and / or separation projects either as a consultant in a leading consultancy firm, or having developed similar experience with a major corporate. The candidate should have led or played a key role in:

• Integrating businesses that have undertaken an acquisition or JV; or

• Separating businesses that have undertaken a carve out or asset disposal.

In addition the following demonstrated experience, skills and behaviour are required:

- Considerable experience of working in professional services organisations, blue chip corporates or a combination of both;

- Commercial awareness and evidence of working successfully with top management teams;

- Detailed knowledge of business models and operating models, ideally in one or more of the banking, insurance or investment management sectors;

- Strong personal impact, self awareness and sophisticated influencing skills;

- Ability to create and implement structured problem solving approaches, often in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments;

- Ability to perform consistently at a high level under pressure and create, lead and operate in high performing teams;

- Strong financial skills including business planning, opportunity and investment evaluation and benefits tracking; and

- Evidence of a relentless approach to the development of others and oneself.

Candidates should be trained to at least degree level, ideally with an additional qualification (MBA or other). Any languages in addition to English would be a bonus.
