Essential Responsibilities:
- § Identifies cost reduction opportunities through component cost analysis and VE.
- § Provides status reports of activities, savings opportunities and savings progress.
- § Works closely with internal Product Engineering/ Process Engineering and Sourcing teams.
- § Visits suppliers (global locations) to analyze their manufacturing/ materials/ tooling costs.
- § Tear down products and components to analyze cost drivers.
- § Produces cost models and benchmarks for a variety of components
Basic Qualifications:
•1. REQUIRED Specific Knowledge, Expertise, Coursework
- Ability to read Engineering drawings incorporating GDT
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and experience with SAP would be advantageous
•2. REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent
- BS / BA in an Engineering related qualification
•3. REQUIRED Specific Prior Experiences
- Component/commodity experience in plastics, injection molding, metal pressings, stampings and forgings, loudspeaker components (cones, spiders, voice coils, magnets), cable/connector and assemblies
- Technical Engineering background preferably in the Automotive Industry with at least 3 years hands-on experience of cost analysis and/or Value Engineering

Eligibility Requirements:
- Willingness to travel 15% of the time - Do not remove unless there is no travel
- Willingness to work in an office in (Farmington Hills, MI)
- Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
- Willingness to participate into conferences with Chinese collaborators mostly scheduled in the evening.
