Morgan Stanley is seeking a Senior Manager for its North America Transfer Pricing/Tax Controller Team. The successful hire will be responsible for all aspects of the Firm's transfer pricing accounting process and management of 2 staff. This is a role with global reach, providing support to groups in all regions. This is an interesting role for the right candidate as it requires getting a detailed understanding of how upstream and downstream processes /booking models intersect with transfer pricing.
Transfer Pricing (TP) is the pricing of intercompany transactions; where one entity within the company provides goods, services or intangibles to another entity within the company. The Morgan Stanley Transfer Pricing Control Group is responsible for reconciling and reporting transfer pricing globally, provides global support to Tax, Legal Entity, Regulatory and Product Controllers.
This position requires a strong, self-motivated and innovative individual with strong problem solving skills preferably with some experience of process flow/project management:
The Transfer Pricing Team's responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Liaising with tax, legal entity, regulatory product controllers globally
• Month end close process for transfer pricing
• Quarterly and annual global transfer pricing to transfer pricing schedule reconciliation
• Daily/Monthly hedging of TP related FX exposure globally
• Daily review / approval of cost center home company changes
• Monthly transfer pricing account reconciliation and variance analysis
• Monthly Related party account reconciliation and control
• Responding to e-mails, questions and requests on a timely basis
• Liaise with IT and users to help trouble shoot and resolve issues on two transfer pricing systems
• Provide training to global users on TP systems and to global finance on Transfer Pricing as a function
• Ad hoc support to the Tax department
• Participation in /management of projects
Skills Required:
• Strong leadership / management skills as the candidate will be responsible for the coaching, development and evaluation of staff
• Strong legal entity /accounting skills but with a good understanding of how management reporting intersects
• Strong PC Skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Strong analytical /problem solving skills
• Self motivated and with the ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple activities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
