Transfer Pricing Tax Manager – VP recruitment
BlackRock's Finance team is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and control of the financial resources of BlackRock and its subsidiaries. The Finance Group is comprised of four units: Accounting Policy, Tax and Controls; Business Finance; Treasury; and Corporate Controllers.
BlackRock is seeking a Vice President of Transfer Pricing based in our New York City headquarters to support global transfer pricing planning, execution, reporting and controversy management. We do business in over 25 countries and well over 20 states, often in environments subject to financial regulation. The Transfer Pricing Vice President will work closely with the global head of Transfer Pricing, business partners and other members of the tax and finance departments to develop transfer pricing planning strategy, develop and refine transfer pricing policies, improve governance and controls over transfer pricing execution/reporting, manage controversy and provide transfer pricing support for mergers acquisitions and new business initiatives. The ideal candidate must be comfortable directly liaising with various business teams within the organization to develop a cross-functional transfer pricing operating model that optimizes efficiency and adequately manages risk.
We are seeking an experienced transfer pricing professional with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a large corporate and/or public accounting environment. This is a position that requires extensive interaction with multiple functions within the organization and an ability to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful to non-tax professionals. The job requires strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong project management capabilities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of Global Transfer Pricing Policies for new business initiatives and changes to the business.
- Develop and maintain global transfer pricing processes and procedures.
- Prepare transfer pricing annual documentation in all material jurisdictions where BlackRock operates.
- Develop functional descriptions of business activities, collaborating with others on the Transfer Pricing team, business groups and Business Finance.
- Defend transfer pricing policies by drafting responses to tax inquiries from various taxing authorities.
- Work cross-functionally within BlackRock and service providers, e.g., portfolio management, marketing, financial reporting, product teams, internal and external counsel, independent auditors, and external tax authorities.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in transfer pricing in an accounting / boutique firm or within a multinational entity.
- Experience in asset management, banking, or financial services preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Tax. CPA or Masters of Taxation degree a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Experience with Oracle financial applications and Hyperion Financial Management a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Global / Multinational organization experience preferred.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively cross-functionally and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexible; self-motivated and proactive.
- Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal guidance, and ability to work in a fast paced environment with a high degree of accuracy.
