Role description:
BlackRock is seeking a Team Leader to work in transition management within the TRIM team at BlackRock. The transition management business delivers execution excellence, project management and risk management to clients to reduce the cost of acquiring alpha and beta and ultimately to maximise the performance of their investment strategies. The ideal candidate must have the ability to view complex multi-dimensional restructurings at the macro level and articulate at the micro level the optimal execution path for a client. The diversity of transactions, breadth of asset classes and access to one of the largest pools of intellectual capital translates into a position where no two days are the same. Attention to detail and an appetite to learn are a must. The role will involve managing a team of transition managers engaged in portfolio restructurings for a range of institutional clients. The role will require an ability to work with a range of financial instruments across all asset classes and to thrive and provide leadership and direction in an intense project focused environment.
Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will be responsible for the transitions run by their team, helping clients transition their exposure at the lowest cost and risk profile. In particular this involves:
- Design, implementation, monitoring and execution of detailed transition plans.
- Identifying, understanding and mitigating all forms of risk that occur during periods of change.
- Defining and owning the optimal execution strategy.
- Developing and mentoring transition managers.
As a senior team member the Team Leader would also be expected to contribute to strategy and systems development projects.

Transition Management is a high trust product where clients provide a significant proportion of their assets to BlackRock and as such the Transition Manager is accountable directly to the client to maintain the highest standard of care, responsiveness and deliver the standard of service. Attention to detail, personal service and technical knowledge are at the core of the skills required to be a successful member of the team. The Transition Manager is also a good communicator, able to dissect complex ideas and concepts into relevant and timely information for clients. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to communicate, to network, to establish and maintain productive working relationships with individuals at all levels.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in portfolio management and trading across equities, fixed income and FX.
- Strong quantitative skills.
