Position Description:

Sargent Lundy's Power Delivery Services business unit currently has an opportunity for a Transmission Line Engineer in its San Francisco, California office.
- This position will offer you the opportunity to work in a project team environment in the production of detailed designs for high voltage transmission line projects up to 765 kV. In this role, you will be assess transmission and distribution engineering and design issues while factoring in budget, reliability, maintenance, and industry regulations and standards. You will then have the opportunity to consider alternatives, before preparing and presenting your findings and recommendations to your peers, project teams, and SL clients.
- Depending upon project requirements, you may be involved in coordinating all phases of a transmission line engineering project, including but not limited to, preparing construction bid documentation and estimates, creating the scope of work including the creation of a project schedule, selecting and procuring transmission line materials/equipment, preparing all associated designs such as line routing designs and structural and foundation designs, and delivering all necessary calculations.
- You will apply your modeling experience with PLS-CADD in creating 3D overhead transmission line designs across a variety of complex, international environments, as well as apply your expertise in using SAG10 for calculating conductor sag and tension in compensating for diverse climates.
- There may be opportunities for you to visit sites and interact directly with clients, vendors, and contractors in resolving design and/or construction issues.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and experience:
- This position requires a BSEE or BSCE from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
- Knowledge of PLS-CADD and SAG10 software to create related Transmission and Distribution designs.
- You must have 5 or more years of experience as a member of a project team in observing project schedules and budget constraints on diverse transmission and distribution assignments that have included the following: transmission line design, NESC code requirements, cost estimate development, schedule creation and coordination, the preparation of specifications for procurement of transmission line materials and structures, and liaising with and overseeing construction and installation.

Valued but not required skills and experience:
- PE license.
