Renowned as a Global leader in Project Logistics, our client prides itself on its ability to deliver technologically advanced Supply Chain and Logistics solutions to its extensive client base worldwide.
Due to new project developments and an overriding commitment to customer service, my client is looking to secure a highly experienced operations professional to be appointed to the role of Transport Manager based in PNG. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing the transportation and warehousing operations in relation to the contractual requirements of this large LNG project. You will also manage a medium sized team of PNG nationals, so your ability to communicate within various cultures and personalities will be critical to this role.
The primary mode of transport for the project is road freight, so it will be highly desirable that you have a strong understanding of road and container transport, but exposure to air/sea freight within remote locations will also be viewed favourably. Tertiary qualifications is Business or Logistics Management would also be an advantage.
Key to your success in this position will be your exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to liaise and influence at all levels of business. Due to the critical nature of this role you will also need to possess excellent leadership and people management abilities and have a real passion for creating and nurturing a true team based culture.
