Transport Operator
An excellent opportunity has arisen at Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK for a Night Transport Operator to join the team in Rugby. The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate the night elements of the transport operations of the Bulk and
Radial distribution fleet in order to satisfy the needs of the customers efficiently and cost effectively.
Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:
Act as the main point of contact with regards to the bulk loading operation on nights and ensuring that the bulk plan remains efficient and cost effective. Particular focus on ensuring that all early start bulk drivers are out on time to ensure adherence to service requirements.
Act as the main point of contact with regards to the radial trunking operation ensuring that the driver's leave on time and that all documentation/PODs are efficiently dealt with.
Increase productivity and efficiency with the consideration of cost saving initiatives
Ensure that all drivers are trained to the required standard particularly with regard to health and safety legislation and manual handling.
Ensure that all procedures are adhered to in connection with the delivery of all consignments on the bulk and radial fleet.
Ensure that all delivery paperwork is managed in line with site requirements.
Ensure that all necessary information required for analysis during the daytime operation with regard to KPI's etc. is completed fully and accurately.
In partnership with the radial bulk transport operator's days to coordinate the briefing out of all radial bulk drivers in the morning.
Ensure that the workload of the Night Transport Clerk is completed and assisting where required to ensure that the entire nightshift workload is completed.
The ideal candidate will have:
A transport background
Demonstrable time management skills
Familiarity with standard Microsoft packages e.g. Word and Excel
Effective communication skills
An ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements
Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach
Financial awareness
