Transport Supervisor

Our client, a major player in global freight delivery services, is looking for an experienced transport operations person to join their afternoon shift in the role of Transport Supervisor. This is a role that is pivotal to the efficient, timely and cost effective functioning of the afternoon Operations of the business.

Crucial to your success in this position will be your strategic approach to leading your team of staff in the unloading of linehaul vehicles and ensuring the effective and efficient distribution of freight to both PUD and bulk fleets. Suitable applicants will possess:

- Experience managing a high volume operational team with a strong customer focus
- A working knowledge of Dangerous Goods and current heavy vehicle legislation
- Experience leading and delegating to a team of employees in an express freight environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including well developed persuasive ability
- An in depth knowledge of OH S procedures and a track record of ensuring safe work practices

The primary responsibilities of the role are to:
- Manage daily/weekly staffing requirements
- Maintain high level communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Implement risk management and loss prevention strategies
- Identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service issues
