Transportation Economist, Associate Director recruitment

The Economics, Regulation and Policy practice is a leading economic and commercial advisor to government and private sector clients. We help capture and analyse the impacts of projects and investments to determine their economic feasibility along with assisting with strategic policy development, regulatory economics, program evaluation and economic impact assessments.

Our Sydney team has experience across a wide range of industry sectors including transport, infrastructure, energy, water, healthcare, education and tourism. Due to the rapid growth of our Australian economics practice, we are looking for an experienced Economist, with a strong record in the transport sector, to join our team in London.

We are looking for someone who can immediately play - or can quickly develop towards - a senior national leadership position in our team. The position will be challenging but will offer sustained progression in the business.

Your responsibilities as a Transportation Economist, Associate Director will include:

- Leading the preparation of business cases, economic appraisals, cost benefit analyses, feasibility studies and economic impact assessments

- Providing expert advice to the wider team on traditional and cutting edge economic methodologies

- Managing teams, budgets and client engagement to deliver successful client projects

- Leading strategic pursuits to win new clients and business and contribute to the growth of the practice

- Building strong client relationships with key individuals in the transport and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications/skills you'll need as a Transportation Economist, Associate Director:

- Experience as an economist, including significant experience undertaking economic analysis in the infrastructure sector

- Experience leading major economic cost benefit analyses of infrastructure projects including public and private transport

- Expertise and experience in applying current economic methodologies and guidelines and applying cutting edge evaluation techniques

- Ability to effectively communicate complex and technical ideas to high-level decision makers

- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to undertake large scale projects.
