Transportation Specialist Job
Provide transportation and purchasing administration support for Mount Juliet, TN warehouse as well as affiliated warehouses in Industrial Solutions. Essential Responsibilities - Primary focus centered on Transportation, invoice processing including prepayment audits, assigning invoices to appropriate location and cost center, and working with carriers to provide payment status information - Other duties include shipment tracing and expediting, customer service claims processing with carriers for Distribution Center, report generation, plant support, and other general transportation warehouse related duties as required - Provide purchasing administration support using the Oracle system, including creating purchase orders and blanket POs in the Oracle direct system for material purchases and release POs as required - Update master files as required - Review and resolve invoicing variances with accounts payable team Qualifications/Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business or related discipline Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics - 2years of transportation and/or purchasing experience - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office a must - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written - Detailed oriented, able to manage several tasks at once, and capable of performing at a high output in a fast paced environment - Self-starter, capable of working without direct supervision - Team player with the ability to motivate and energize others - Comfortable working in a cross-functional matrix organization - Green Belt certification (GE employees only) Why join one great company when you can join many?
