Treasury Accountant recruitment

This role is being created as part of a move to restructure the Global Markets finance team which will consolidate the treasury processes for global markets activities that is currently across several regions, enhancing our UK oversight. The role requires a strong accountant, familiar with treasury products and related accounting within banking institutions to take on this new role within the UK GM finance team.

The Global Markets finance team provides the following functions:

-a full legal accounting, financial control and regulatory reporting framework for UK domiciled companies

-a business unit financial and management decision support to UK business

-Product control and valuations

-Treasury and liquidity financial control (securities portfolio, liquidity MI)

Treasury Accountant responsibilities:

Treasury accounting of UK treasury activities

Accurate accounting and accounting controls of all Treasury products, including portfolio accounting for HFS/ATM securities and calculation of accretion

GM finance lead for all treasury accounting initiatives

Liquidity reporting for London branch and other UK entities

Money market interest rate analysis

NIR review

MTM reconciliation to Intrader and accounting for MTM for portfolio

Accretion and paydown calculation and related accounting

Support ILAA process from finance perspective

Accounting for UK ‘Joint Venture’, including eliminations for consolidation of London branch in relation to portfolio assets

Setting up finance treasury and liquidity processes, in relation to expansion of fixed income and equity derivative business in this entity

Finance support to new collateral management function in UK

Quarterly SOX self-assessment of treasury accounting controls

Treasury Accountant skills:

ACA, or equivalent, qualified, with significant accounting PQE in a finance services role and familiarity with its processes

Bachelor’s degree, preferably with numerical / analytical basis

Knowledge of treasury products

Understanding of treasury products and accounting required (AFS vs HTM, accretion models etc)

Working knowledge of liquidity reporting and ILAA process very useful

Working knowledge of accounting systems essential

Strong attention to detail

Developed modelling and project management skills
