About the team:
KPN’s Corporate Treasury department is responsible for corporate finance, treasury operations and insurance. The Treasury Operations team focuses on cash management, FX and interest rate risk management, excess cash investment/short term funding needs, and all related back-office activities. The Corporate Finance team manages KPN’s funding strategy (e.g. bond issues), guards KPN’s credit ratings and works with KPN’s MA and strategy teams on matters like acquisition financing.
About the role:
In this role you will be part of the Treasury Operations team and report to the manager Treasury Operations. You will take responsibility for a portfolio of hedge and treasury instruments, related to both KPN’s funding and to underlying business related risks. You will negotiate with banks on derivative and other transactions and you will work with senior management and the business to provide solutions for currency and other financial risks. Furthermore, you will be involved in cash management matters and projects to implement new or improved processes and systems.
Activities include:
KPN has operations across Western Europe, in the US and other countries and part of its capex and opex is sourced in non-functional currencies. You will work with the business to manage these exposures and assist the Corporate Finance team in hedging currency and interest risk, e.g managing fixed vs floating interest and hedging non-Euro bond issues.
Requirements:
A professional with a track record in treasury and derivatives, including IFRS treatment and hedge accounting (IAS 32/39). Minimum of 5 years (corporate) treasury experience. Main criteria are intellectually strong, integer, professional and team player, combined with a strong drive to provide best in class advice. Background in (financial or business) economics or business administration is preferred.
