TREASURY ANALYST recruitment
The role is for a Treasury Analyst and the successful candidate will reconcile book and bank transaction data in order to ensure cash and/or security transactions are in agreement with system of record.
They will research, analyze and ensure resolution of exception items through communication with internal and external entities in an accurate and timely manner in order to reduce financial exposure to their clients and company.
Core Responsibilities:
- Reconcile cash and/or positions between internal systems and custodians.
- Monitor and clear exception items from the reconciliation system.
- Respond to queries from internal and external entities in a timely manner.
- Prepare applicable reporting to internal and external entities.
- Ensure unresolved problems and issues are promptly escalated.
- Analyse and research cash and/or position exception items.
- Coordinate resolution of cash and/or position exception items in a timely manner though use of effective communication skills.
- Recommend ways to minimize the reoccurrence of the exception items, for example through: system enhancements, process changes or policy changes.
- Attend, participate in and provide feedback for department meetings.
- Work on special projects as assigned, such as participation on an enhancement recommendation, process changes or user acceptance testing.
- Assist with maintaining up-to-date department procedures.
Core Skills:
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyse reconciliation exceptions and determine and/or recommend resolutions.
- Work under general supervision; refers to policies and practices for guidance.
Core Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Accounting experience in automated environment.
- Other education/training (could be part of degree program) advantageous in:
- Financial Accounting
- Teamwork, communication.
- Personal computer applications (Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of banking operations, mutual funds or the securities industry.
