Treasury Compliance Advisory Officer

A leading banking organisation in the City of London seeks a Compliance Advisor to join their team with an initial focus on their Treasury business. A great opportunity for a Compliance Officer looking to specialise or to transition into an advisory role for the first time.

The Company:

Based in the city of London, the firm specialises in Commercial Lending, Wealth Management and Securities trading with an excellent record of 20% growth, year on year over the last 5 years.
The Compliance Advisory team is comprised of 7 people who separately advise the individual divisions of the business. The firm has a flat structure and a business culture that is designed to motivate challenge people - giving you the opportunity to interact and have input with senior management on a daily basis, as well as having a clear understanding of your career progression. Internal mobility is common and encouraged.

The Job:

The Treasury division sits at the heart of the business and is an integral part of the firm’s financial control and risk management function. As one of the key business activities is specialist commercial lending, the annuity flows derived from this business are channelled to new lending opportunities. As such there are a number of regulatory controls that need to be monitored at all times and regulatory advice provided to the Treasurer and his team on all matters arising.

Acting as the point of contact between the FCA/PRA and the Treasury business sales force, you will be responsible for ensuring that a wide range of responsibilities are maintained that included: working closely with the Treasurer and his team, liaising with the risk and legal departments on all regulatory matters affecting the treasury business, ensuring that the conduct of business rules are maintained throughout, approving financial promotions material and numerous others. In short, this is a demanding and challenging role!

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
• University degree is essential
• 2-4 years of experience of working in a compliance in a banking environment
• Good understanding of Banking Products
• Strong knowledge of Treasury within a bank
• Excellent understanding of the FCA regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Further study relevant to compliance e.g. a professional qualification or the Securities Institute Diploma (beneficial)
