Treasury Dealer recruitment
Main Duties / Key Responsibilities:
- Daily management of the ALM function – specifically managing the bank’s liquidity in accordance with the policies for liquidity and profit rate risk. Executing money market, derivative products, Equity, Sukuk and FX transactions to ensure:
a) stakeholder funding requirements are met;
b) inherent market risk is mitigated or managed in line with the Board appetite;
c) maximum potential income is derived from such activities.
- Monitoring of the Bank’s overall cost of funds with a mandate to develop the internal funds transfer pricing model;
- Sourcing and collating external inter-bank Treasury agreements and managing the approval process in line with Bank policies;
- Working closely with Risk Management and Finance in the production of management information pertaining to the balance sheet, including but not exclusively PL, liquidity ratios, profit rate risk reports and buffer requirements;
- Providing input and conducting analysis/research into new product development to broaden the available suite of Treasury products that will enable the bank to become more competitive and provide a premium customer offering;
- Attending, as required by line manager, ALCO, NDF (New Deal Forums) or other deal team meetings as Treasury support or representative;
- Build and maintain relationships with external parties where required.
Tasks will include:
- Asset and Liability Management including FTP;
- Cashflow Modelling – Preparation and running of scenario tests on Excel for transactions and/or asset and liability profiles;
- Market Knowledge – Keeping up to date on the markets of focus at any time, whilst contributing suggestions / strategies on new sectors and / or geographies;
- Products - Application of skill set to the strategic development, cashflow modelling and marketing documents of all Treasury products;
- Execution – ensuring timely and efficient execution of transactions, including preparation of internal approval documents and new product development.
Background / Experience:
Relevant professional qualifications would be beneficial, along with experience of working in a Treasury environment.
Required knowledge skills:
- Working knowledge of treasury cash book management;
- Working knowledge of asset and liability management.
Beneficial knowledge skills:
- Knowledge of / interest in Islamic banking and markets;
- Arabic language skills.
Personal skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work autonomously within a small team, sharing knowledge and skills;
- Intuitive mind;
- Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
