Treasury Director – Structural Hedging & Balance Sheet Risk recruitment
Treasury is responsible for the management and execution of the group's capital, funding and liquidity risks and requirements. The Treasury is centred around five global functional pillars - Capital Management, Liquidity Management, ALM/FTP, Treasury Execution and the Investment Function - complemented by three regional and two business cluster Treasuries.
These functional, regional and business treasuries work together in a matrix structure.
The Asset Liability Management / Funds Transfer Pricing (ALM / FTP) Pillar function are currently strengthening their team and require a Director who can help build a better risk framework for Structural Risk, particularly Interest Rate Risk. In the hiring manager's words, "to get under the bonnet and learn the structure, engage with the business, understand and get an aggregate view". The treasury business is striving to drive a single view of IRR across the bank and influence the ALCO and Treasury Committee. The three main parts to this role are:
1. Indentify risks
2. Quantify risk
3. Recommend and Implement
They describe this role as being very strategic and hence they require someone who is experienced at taking a view on an ALM Risk position (NB:: this role interacts very closely with the execution team). They do not want people who have been involved in ALM purely from an operational, project or MI perspective.
This is a line management role and hence they need someone to apply the highest interpersonal skills, be able to negotiate, influence and collaborate with the business. This role also has line management responsibilities (between 5 and 7 staff).
