TREASURY MIDDLE OFFICER recruitment

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES 

• Aggregation and validation of risk information for Treasury. This is based on a combination of FO system and BO system sources. The scope of contributing sources extends beyond Treasury own activity to include non trade originated and other corporate risk information.

• Reporting of this risk to Treasury and to CRO

• Deal entry in ETRM system

• Preparation, validation and reporting of Treasury owned PnL and associated analytics.

• Verifying that risk is being operated within prescribed limits, and reporting any limit breach on a timely basis to CRO and Treasury

• Proactively develop and improve business processes and ETRM systems / functionalities in coordination with Treasury, IT, and Chief Risk Manager

• Develop and maintain good working relationships with the various functions within Treasury and the business areas that Treasury supports across locations, including finance, trading, and other middle office and operations

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

• A degree in a numerate discipline with a financial major would be attractive, i.e. B. Comm., B. Economics etc.

• An understanding of accounting principles and practice insofar as it relates to entity level and consolidation level FX risk.

• Competent to prepare a daily FX P(L). The instruments currently used are FX spot and forward trades, but the products could extend to FX options. 

• A further professional qualification may be helpful but not essential.

EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Preferably an experienced Risk/Business Analyst with strong understanding, knowledge and experience of Energy trading, knowledge of oil trading is a plus.

• A strong but inclusive personality.

• Passionate about risk and processes, pragmatic rather than overly theoretical, capable of working with the business lines to embed risk awareness and culture into everyday processes

• Stable, confident, independently minded but an inclusive, non-political team player, with the courage to voice his/her convictions to senior management and colleagues

• Technically competent with experience in setting up / managing risk management ETRM systems and tools.

• Familiar with back office and middle office processes

2 - 3 years experience in Middle Office.
