Treasury Operations Analyst recruitment
Reporting to the Manager of Treasury Operations, this position as Treasury Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the trade confirmation and clearing process associated with Ally Financial Capital Markets trading activity, including trades executed through the Ally Securities Broker-Dealer. The Analyst should have strong working knowledge of derivatives and fixed income products. In addition the analysts should have knowledge of Mortgage related products, including Agency MBS and REMICs, and private label MBS. The Analyst will be involved in all trade set up in the trading platform as well as responsible for addressing settlement issues that arise with counterparties and the related clearing and custody agents. The Analyst will assist in the trade settlement process exists by documenting the trade process as needed. The Analyst will need to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the trade process and be able to communicate and address issues with internal groups including the trading desk, cash operations, trading product management and finance and clearing firms.
Principal Accountabilities:
- (50%) – Provide the primary support and execute the trade confirmation and clearing process associated with Ally Financial Capital Markets trading activity, including trades executed through the Ally Securities Broker-Dealer. Document trade processes to ensuring a controlled and repeatable process exists.
- (25%) - Leverage the deal capture platform and establish trade profiles (trade set up), ensuring a smooth trade activity occurs.
- (15%) - Resolve trade disputes or errors with counterparties or internal groups in a timely manner. Follow-up and confirm appropriate actions were taken by the clearing and custody agents.
- (5%) - Develop a process to verify appropriate trade related payments occur and are posted appropriately to the general ledger system.
- (5%) - Participate in special projects as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 5-7 years of experience
- Demonstrated clearing experience in MBS products to consist of Agency MBS, private label securities and structured ABS/MBS products.
- Experience in DTC physical deliveries.
- Working knowledge of derivatives and other fixed income clearing processes.
- Exposure to trading concepts or previous experience in a mortgage and fixed income related trade clearing/settlement environment.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- Detail oriented and ability to focus on specific tasks is critical to success.
