Essential Responsibilities

This role is a dual role in the Risk function.

The Risk function provides the counterparty credit approval and credit oversight of GE Capital UK’s Treasury activities (investments / money placements /FX dealing and derivatives) as well as oversight on ALM risks. We are developing the depth of our oversight to give an enhanced second line of defence and the job holder will contribute to that enhancement.

As GE Capital UK enhances its Risk Management and plays its part in the wider GE Capital regulatory changes, the Risk function will lead a number of policy developments and projects to improve our business performance and risk management. The Risk function has a leading role to play in the readiness of GE Capital UK to meet evolving regulatory requirements, including the UK’s requirement for Recovery and Resolution Plans, the maintenance of which the job holder will be responsible for with input from all affected functions.

In addition to project work, the Risk function own a number of key GE Capital UK policies including Risk Appetite and Enterprise Risk Management the renewal and development of which the job holder will manage, again in liaison with stakeholders.

- Advanced understanding of Business strategy and model

- Expertise regarding Treasury operations (Front / Middle / Back office)
- Experience of sovereign and bank counterparty risk as well as market contingent credit risk (including settlement risk). Knowledge of the principles of ALM risk management.
- Knowledge and experience of financial analysis controls
- Ensures appropriate and effective control and reporting mechanisms are operating in the business around credit risks and able to use this data to identify risk trends worthy of further investigation. Financial information to be used to identify risks, including non-financial.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, mathematics, business administration or economics
• Experience of working within a treasury function in a back / middle or front office role.

• ALM Risk experience
• Fluent English
