Treasury – Secured and Unsecured Funding recruitment

The Head of Structured Funding will report directly to the Treasurer and although not officially an assistant treasurer the core duties of this role very much reflect the role of an assistant Treasurer.

In addition to the job description below the Treasurer of this highly successful bank believes that the successful Head of Structured Funding will offer a background that covers both asset backed facilities and unsecured funding as this role covers all funding activities that require documentation.

Additional to the asset backed facility and unsecured funding experience the Treasurer is particularly interested in applicants who can offer experience in a smaller bank (or London branches of foreign owned banks) or even a building society. This role relies heavily on the Head of Structured Funding ability to influence, educate and persuade other internal departments when arranging funding activities.

Those that offer revenue driven structured finance and not core Treasury and unsecured funding experience may find that this role is not transaction focused enough.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the structured funding initiatives carried out by the group with key accountabilities in the following:

• Development and management of asset backed facilities for funding the group

• Liaison between the Lending Divisions and the Funding banks

• Management of the banks committed, unsecured funding facilities from other financial institutions

• Development of alternative sources of funding from the Capital Markets, including bond issuances

To be the successful Head of Structured Funding it is essential to offer the following experience:

• Extensive structured finance experience, including a good understanding of rating agency methodologies

• Proven track record of developing processing and management information platforms to bring operational efficiencies

• Excellent verbal and written communications

• Ability to deliver objectives that are likely to have greater impact on business results

• Capability to help shape the business agenda

• Project management skills

• Breadth of influence beyond current role

• Ability to review complex documentation

Desired experience:

• Capital markets bond issuance experience

• UK regulatory experience
