Trend Strategy Manager

The key focus of this position is to establish and direct style standards of Lowe?s private fashion brands from a perspective rooted in trend. The Manager will work directly with Branding, Design and Product Development to ensure a consistent brand image from a style standpoint. This guidance is crucial in creating a differentiated experience for the customer. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: ?Utilize Trend Strategy and consumer lifestyle insights to develop style standards for Lowe?s private label fashion brands ?Create processes, specific to brands/categories, to ensure development is in accordance with style standards, merchandising initiatives and production deadlines ?Partner with Brand Managers to ensure alignment of business objectives ?Develop communication plan, inclusive of hand-outs, guides and presentations, to convey private brand aesthetic to key stakeholders, including vendors ?Create presentation boards, based on high-level direction developed by Trend Strategy ?Monitor sales of style-driven, private-branded product and analyze data for future guidance ?Stay abreast of competitive offerings ?Support Brand requests for guidance on ensuring a consistent brand image in consumer-facing materials and displays ?Identify opportunities and generate ideas to enrich private brands from a style perspective ?Posses high level of understanding of historic and current home décor trends ?Understand color theory and impact of shape, finish and proportion with regards to product design ?Ability to discern and distinguish marketplace, home and product trends including fashion, design, color and finish ?Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills. Ability to create graphic presentations for review with various internal groups, including all levels of management, merchandising, branding and sourcing. ?Establishes and fosters relationships with key stakeholders ?Detail-oriented self-starter with ability to take direction, follow through and work effectively in a fast-paced, exciting environment ?Strong presentation skills ?Strong creative, conceptual and analytical skills POSITION REQUIREMENTS ?BFA, BS or BA in Design (Interior, Furniture, Textile) or other applied arts or equivalent work experience ?7+ years in design, product development or trend tracking, research, translation (or combination) ?Experience in providing trend/style direction for product development ?Background in product, style related to home is a plus ?High skill level in the popular office computer software applications, (Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Creative Suites, etc.) With fiscal year 2010 sales of $48.8 billion, Lowe?s Companies, Inc. is a FORTUNE® 50 company that serves approximately 15 million customers a week at more than 1,750 home improvement stores in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
