RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations
• Update and maintain local HR processes, policies and procedures to ensure that they support MSCI’s strategic goals and culture
• Contribute to the development of, and implement, MSCI global and regional policies and procedures, tailoring to local requirements where appropriate
• Manage administrative processes for joiners, leavers and other contract amendments
• Maintaining accurate data in all HR Systems
• Manage all aspects of the Year End process to ensure that annual reviews, comp decisions and promotions are successfully completed
• Produce all official documentations including offer letters, disciplinary communications and termination letters
• Liaise with the internal Payroll team to ensure all employee information and reporting is accurately and securely provided
• Manage car policy for Brussels
• Manage Belgian bonus program, liaising with finance and other internal stakeholders as well as external authorities to ensure compliance
• Co-ordinate the monthly time recording process for the Brussels office, including attendance reporting and holiday/sickness leave processes
• Act as the independent source of HR expertise in Brussels for all line managers (regardless of location) and employees
• Proactively provide feedback to senior management concerning morale, motivation and people at risk, and recommend solutions
• Partner with management (local and global) for talent and performance management initiatives, adding valuable, balanced insights for employee/team development
• Proactively advice employees and management in order to resolve employee relation issues, act as a confidant for employees and managers to assist them in performance and work-related issues.
• Partner with recruitment team to support recruitment activity in Brussels, particularly during Proxy Season
• Undertake ad-hoc projects and global initiatives as required
• Review HR administration (Brussels) and identify systems integration efficiency improvement opportunities
• Review culture of Brussels Office , and relative levels of integration with rest of MSCI, and recommend steps required to reinforce culture, integration and engagement
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fluent English, French Flemish
- University degree in HR, Business or Psychology
- Five years’ experience of providing HR generalist support in a private sector environment in Belgium. Financial Services experience a plus
- Experience of providing HR support to other European locations is an advantage
- Evidence of multiple stakeholder management in a matrix, global organisation
- Evidence of successful development and implementation of cultural/engagement initiatives
- Ability to work independently in a highly pressurized environment and to be proactive and prioritize work load accordingly
- Excellent team player, able to work with minimum supervision in a “virtual” global team environment
