Employment Qualifications

 

1                    Applicant must be at least 23 years old.

 

2                    Applicant must have 1 year verifiable over the road driving experience.

 

3                    Must possess a valid CDL with tank and Hazardous Materials Endorsements.

 

4                    No DWI, reckless driving, or hit and run convictions in the past 5 years.

 

5                    ALL felony convictions must be reviewed by Human Resources.

 

6                    No “at fault” accidents causing personal injury or property damage in the past 3 years.

 

7                    No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.

 

8                    No more than 3 jobs in past 2 years.

 

9                    Must have legal right to work in US.

 

10               Must have reliable telephone number to be contacted.

 

11               Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and possess a current DOT physical certification.      

 

12               Must present good attitude and appearance at all times.

 

13               Applicant must understand and speak English.

 

14               Must comply with all standards set forth by the local, state and federal laws, including all standards in the Pope Driver Handbook.

 

Pope Transport Drivers are responsible for operating Company owned and leased vehicles safely while delivering products to customer sites, and loading and unloading products on trucks.  Drivers must operate vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws and report any malfunction of equipment.  Drivers must obtain signatures on delivery tickets when possible.  Drivers are required to follow scheduling and routing of deliveries and make deliveries on time as scheduled.  Driver must follow proper procedures in reporting any accidents or spills.
