TSM Consultant - Tivoli Storage Manager
Tivoli Storage Manager SME required for my banking client based in London to act as Tivoli SME for the clients storage estate.
Candidates will be involved in
- Technical analysis, scoping and review of client backups and recovery environments; providing documentation of both hardware and software architecture views, to understand the current environment.
- Be the subject matter expert and escalation point for all backup related incidents and planned changes. - Designing new solutions utilising the latest technology in TSM - recommending the most cost effective solution.
- Provides specialist guidance and some supervision to less experienced colleagues. Perform core TSM administrative and operational activities in support of the data protection operation.
- Enhance TSM monitoring and reporting and produce necessary documentation for support team to troubleshoot/resolve incidents related to TSM.
- Responds to enquiries by users, specialists or others and is able to deal effectively with a broad range of problems of moderate complexity, only escalating those which need specialist or management attention.
- Assist in identifying and deploying best practices for data protection and help avoid conflict between backups and peak usage periods.
- Conducts investigations of operational problems, makes proposals for improvement, and implements them when appropriate. Participates in reviews of systems performance, provides advice, and assists specialists or other system or service providers to plan details of amendments and upgrades to systems.
- Packaging TSM client and automate client configuration setup.
Candidates will require
- Strong TSM/TDP/NDMP knowledge
- General infrastructure support experience
- Strong knowledge on TSM infrastructure and Storage (Data Domain, Tape library)
