Responsible for providing flight line services to all transient and emergency aircraft landing and departing Creech AFB, NV. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent. Department of Defense or civilian formal technical training in the aircraft maintenance career field. Experience Eight (8) years prior transient alert/aircraft maintenance experience is required. Military fighter aircraft through flight experience a must. FAA AP license preferred. Technical Skills A. Directs incoming and outgoing aircraft to assist pilot's maneuvering of the aircraft on the ground, using a combination of hand, light signal devices, and ground communication cords B. Secures aircraft in parking position by using appropriate wheel chocks and tie down equipment C. Operates servicing equipment to replenish aircraft with fuel, oil, water, breathing oxygen and hydraulic fluids D. Performs End of Runway (EOR) inspections to include: Arming and de-arming munitions (chaff, flares, guns, etc.) and egress systems (ejection seats); removing and installing landing gear safety pins; flight control operations check; perform overall aircraft safety check (leaking fluids, tire condition, etc.) E. Checks for fuel contamination by draining fuel sumps and drains F. Samples aircraft engines for oil contamination G. Examines and services aircraft tires to correct air pressure H. Responds to all in-flight and ground emergencies and if necessary, removes disabled aircraft from runway using towing equipment I. Positions and removes boarding platforms to load and unload passengers J. Inspects and operates ground support equipment such as electrical power supplies, engine starting units, and aircraft towing equipment K. Cleans exterior of aircraft when necessary L. Maintains appropriate TOs and related publications M. Enters appropriate form entries for all tasks N. Ability to work independently using sound judgment O. Performs flightline sweeping duties using TYMCO 600 or equivalent sweeping vehicle P. Ability to perform certain physical tasks necessary to normal Transient Alert operations which may include heavy lifting and heavy carrying
