UBS Financial Accountant / Legal Entity Controller recruitment

This role is within the UBS AG London Branch reporting team responsible for financial reporting to head office (GCA) and the provision of a variety of related MIS. The role reports into the London Branch Controller. UBS AG London Branch is the largest and most complex of all the UBS entities and is therefore recognised as providing a significant challenge to a qualified accountant.

Daily tasks will include:
• Key contact for business areas and Corporate Centre (GCA) for queries and reporting issues in relation to London Branch.

 Support the London Branch Controller together with Regional Finance Management in the review and validation of the month-end financial statements and related aspects of the close process.

•Support the commentary and signoff process through liaison with stakeholders and follow-up and resolution of items.

• Developing effective working relationships within the RCA team, and with colleagues in other business areas.

• Build understanding of the various businesses, processes and products which comprise the London Branch financials and leverage this to support the review and control of the entity

Build understanding of the firm’s accounting policies and their application to the reporting. Assist others within Finance in their understanding of, and adherence to these policies

• Resolve issues raised during month-end process and review through liaison with the business areas, GCA and other relevant groups.

•Produce analysis and MIS to support management and the wider Business as appropriate.

• Liaison with the external auditors, resolution of queries and involvement in ad-hoc projects involving the entity.

• Support the RCO team and the wider finance community in their understanding of the London Branch reporting requirements and their use of the reporting toolset.

•Work with CTB and associated resource to prioritise and resolve identified reporting and accounting issues in relation to the entity.

Support the wider RCA Team in their reporting of other entities and Liquidity and Funding processes as required.

The ideal candidate for the role will:

Be a qualified accountant

Have strong working knowledge of IFRS

Have a demonstratable understanding of investment banking products
