UBS Financial Operational Accountant / Controller recruitment
The successful applicant will be an integral member in the Finance Business Services (FBS) group within Finance. The role is in the Financial Operational Control (FOC) team of the FBS Global Balance Sheet control function which is a centralised team within Finance to manage the AVI accounts and serve as an interface between PC in finance and the reconciliation team (JRU)/Reconciliation owner (SPG) within Operations.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the control of numerous AVI accounts within Finance. This role is suitable for a qualified accountant level.
The team is responsible for the following key processes as the interface between PC and SPG/JRU:
- Monitoring and management of breaks allocated to finance including complex break investigation
- Control over BS PnL adjustments to AVI accounts with review and committal of all RAMs uploaded
- Involved in GBSOV finalisation with Ops, review of signoffs and ensure that sufficient evidencing is supplied to SPG/Product Control/Finance Ops risk
- Analysis of metrics for AVI accounts and reporting to finance management
- regular review meetings with SPG/JRU to discuss breaks/root cause analysis/process improvement
- Co-ordination of AVI CTB projects to tackle root cause analysis and implement required fixes
- NBIs review for AVI impact and co-ordination wrt ownership approach
- AVI centre onboarding and migration project work
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Gaining specialist knowledge on allocated AVI accounts to effectively manage these accounts;
- building strong relationships with PC, SPG and JRU to ensure all AVI processes/issues are carried out/resolved efficiently;
- providing central escalation point of contact for AVI related queries, acting as a centre of excellence and best practice, and coordinating process with regular meetings with both PC and SPG/JRU management;
- that all controls are completed; with appropriate follow up of exceptions via escalation workbook and
- generating appropriate Management Information Systems (MIS) to allow Senior mgt to understand current status and progress being made
- The applicant will also contribute to on-going improvements in the processes and controls including driving incremental changes.
Good A Levels, 2nd Class Degree - 2:1 or 1st Economics, Maths or Science Subjects preferred
CIMA / ACA / ACCA – preferably 1st time passes with ability to demonstrate understanding of the front-to-back processes, controls and systems infrastructure required for a trading desk.
Ability to assimilate information quickly
Self starter able to work independently
