UK CEO / Senior Institutional Sales Director recruitment

We are a prestigious leading Asset Management firm with $15 billion of assets under management and are now searching for a senior leader to take charge of our UK office.

Our firm provides a breadth of investment products, covering traditional Investments, Absolute Return, Alternative Investments and Fixed Income with over 1,000 institutional and private clients worldwide.

The company has built a great reputation within the European asset management community, with many fund’s performance in the top quartile and strong risk management investment processes.

With over 5% growth last year, as well as the development of new strategic partnerships, the firm is performing relatively strongly in difficult market conditions. We are now looking to appoint a new senior business developer and CEO in London who will be responsible for our AM’s UK business, Marketing and Client Relationship Management activities. In his/her senior Business Development role, he/she will report to the Global Head of Business Development and the Group CEO.

Priorities for the role include:

-  Developing the business plan/marketing strategy for the UK and possibly other European markets with a strong focus on the institutional segment especially Pension Funds Consultant relations;

-  Taking ownership and driving Sales Marketing activities in the UK and possibly other European markets;

-  Acquiring clients based on a personal annual sales budget, building high quality client relationships with new and existing contacts/prospects and consultants;

-  Monitoring the performance of client portfolios in order to maintain client satisfaction and stay aware of their needs, market trends, and possible product demand;

-  Collaborating closely with colleagues across the business including contributing to the production of RFP and presentations;

-  Representing our products to clients and attending important events in the relevant market places;

-  Increasing the visibility and building the reputation of the business in assigned markets;

-  Acting as the CEO of UK market and ensuring that all statutory, legal and compliance requirements are met and that the global policy and principles are implemented at all times.

Expected skills

-   Proven ability to be agreed by the FSA as CEO of an asset management company;

-   Broad based knowledge/experience in the asset management industry with a focus on pension funds and insurance companies; experience with a top name would be a plus;

-   Sales track record in the pension funds/insurance segment together with experience in dealing with consultants;

-    Respected management skills ideally in multiple disciplines (i.e. Sales, Client Management, Product, Operations, Risk, Legal, Finance, Project Management); 

-   Ability to operate effectively in a horizontal organisation;

-   Excellent communication and negotiation skills;

-   Drive and performance-oriented with a high level of tenacity and initiative;

-   Sales-minded, enjoying establishing new contacts and thriving upon sourcing and closing business opportunities;

-   Despite striving for closure, always shows integrity and works ethically in business dealings;

-   Education: university degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics or equivalent;

-   English (native) ideally French or German.
