UK Charity Team Account Manager – Vice President recruitment

International Retail The International Retail Business works in partnership with clients across EMEA, Asia Pacific, Australia, Latin America and Japan. Clients include retail and private banks, insurance companies, charities, financial advisor networks and distribution platforms. The International Retail Business is supported by 24 offices and cross channel functional team which serve clients in 40 countries.
Specialist Client Group This group within international Retail comprises around 30 individuals focusing on UK Investment Companies, Private Offices and Charities. The group is responsible for managing client accounts valued at over $10bn, with a wide variety of investment strategies.
UK Charities at BlackRock BlackRock is one of the UK’s leading managers of charity investments, responsible for funds of over £4.5bn on behalf of more than 5,000 clients. We offer a range of strategies as well as pooled funds designed specifically for charities, including Charinco, Charishare, Charitrak, Charifaith and the Armed Forces Common Investment Fund.
Role This role is for an experienced client relationship manager to serve and grow a portfolio of BlackRock’s UK charitable clients.
Job responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for 30 – 40 UK charity clients
- Use initiative to help develop BlackRock’s charity business
- Contribute actively to Charities business strategy and planning
- Work with clients to create and develop appropriate investment solutions
- Prepare and lead new business pitches
- Take responsibility for client queries, delegate to appropriate internal teams, monitor progress to resolution and ensure that responses are timely and high quality
- Develop sufficient familiarity with BlackRock’s products and operations to present these effectively to prospective and existing clients
- Represent and promote BlackRock at client conferences, industry forums and entertainment events.
Development Value: The successful candidate will gain valuable experience of managing accounts, expanding his/her investment knowledge and interacting with a wide range of clients and trustees. It is expected that the candidate should be capable of being promoted and taking on additional responsibilities within a relatively short time.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Relevant experience within a similar role
- Lively interest in investment
- Sympathy with the ethos of the charity sector
- Ability to attend meetings as the sole BlackRock representative and explain all products and market conditions to clients
- Ability to understand range of products and position them appropriately with clients
- Broad understanding of the UK charities market, investment industry and competitive landscap

- IMC or equivalent essential; CFA welcome but not essential
